Hi, I'm Simon. I studied pure mathematics at UT Austin and graduated in Fall 2023. I was mainly interested in things like TQFTs and low-dimensional topology. At some point I realized I wanted to make a real-world impact instead of studying ∞-categories, so I pivoted to stuff like probability (measure theory) and quantum information science.

After graduating I worked as a quantitative researcher for a small family office called North Cut Trading, spun off from QuantLab. I worked here for about a year, before deciding that building things was more fun than reading papers. Now I work as a software engineer at AWS.
